HARBOR GENERAL CONTRACTOR – RESIDENTIAL ROOF SPECIALIST
Your roof is vital to the stability of your home. When your roof is damaged, it could lead to serious issues for you and your property. A new roof on your home means much more than improved curb appeal. A new roof can increase the value of your home while providing you and your family protection from the severe weather, including rain, hail and electrical storms.
If your roof is failing and it’s time to get a new one, you may be researching your options. Re-roofing is often touted as a less expensive option to a complete roof replacement, which could potentially save you money. However, re-roofing isn’t an option for everyone. Harbor Contracting can assist you in understanding the differences between re-roofing or roof replacement, and when one is appropriate over the other. If you need to replace your roof, our licensed and bonded roofers will tear off the old roofing and reinstall new shingles. We gladly work with you to select the best color for your home. You can rest easy knowing your home is safe and that you’re receiving top-quality craftsmanship.
Repair your existing roof at a fraction of the cost of a new one. Regardless of how significant or minor the work may be, we will complete a thorough roof inspection to identify any potential damage that could turn into a more expensive fix. Our team will walk the roof to carefully inspect every inch, and we will make a full recommendation for the repair work or replacement needed to restore your home or business to its former condition or better. You will receive a copy of our roofing inspection report, and we will file it with your insurance adjuster, as appropriate.
Generally, nobody pays much attention to his or her roof until there is a problem. A well designed and installed roof, if properly maintained, can last greater than 25-years, whereas a poorly designed and improperly installed roof, with little or no proper maintenance is the largest cause of roof failure.
It’s important to check your roof flashings, clean debris off your roof, and clean your gutters from debris at least once a year, but twice a year is better. In the fall, gutters should be cleaned to prevent clogging and to avoid stressing the gutters from holding water or ice in the winter. If you have a tile or wood shake roof, it is VERY important to clean the valleys and dead areas (if applicable) to prevent water damming. Water damming can cause major problems that are often not noticed until it is too late. We will also check the roof in general along with, the pipe flashings, chimneys, dormers, skylights, etc. to ensure that they are in good condition, saving you from developing expensive leak problems.
